Key Responsibilities

• Direct patient care by developing individualized physical therapy treatment plans that aim to prevent disability, relieve pain, and restore functional mobility in accordance with physician prescriptions
• Oversee and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring that treatment plans are executed effectively and that therapists adhere to the standards of care
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' functional levels using a range of diagnostic tests to create comprehensive treatment strategies
• Assess home environments for rehabilitation suitability and make recommendations that enhance patient independence and safety
• Administer manual and non-manual therapeutic exercises, supporting clients in implementing their exercise routines
• Utilize advanced techniques such as traction and massage to facilitate healing and increase mobility
• Evaluate and modify prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary, consulting with physicians for optimal patient results
• Document progress notes, care plans, and discharge summaries accurately within clinical records to monitor outcomes
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate holistic patient care and treatment planning
• Maintain open communication with patients and their families, educating them on therapy devices and ongoing rehabilitation practices
• Be responsive and available to assist Physical Therapy Assistants during patient treatments, ensuring that quality care standards are met
• Fulfill additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned to support company objectives and patient care goals

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on outpatient clients recovering from injuries, surgeries, and debilitating conditions. Our patient population includes a diverse range of individuals in need of rehabilitation services to regain strength, mobility, and independence. Many of our clients are elderly or recovering from major surgeries, requiring a compassionate approach to care that acknowledges their unique challenges and goals.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
• Current physical therapy licensure in good standing within the state of Florida
• Current CPR certification
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence and quality patient care
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for effective patient and family interactions
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a proactive, positive attitude
• Strong judgment skills and decision-making abilities to manage complex patient situations
• Willingness to participate in lifelong learning and professional development opportunities

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist in an acute care or home care setting
• Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing innovative therapy techniques that enhance patient outcomes
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team in a rehabilitation environment
• Prior experience in case management and coordinating care across various disciplines is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience.
