ANALYST II

Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Public Records Section (PRS) Supervisor I or Sergeant, the Analyst II is responsible for performing complex technical and analytical duties that require initiative, good judgment, tact, diplomacy, along with a thorough knowledge of appropriate administrative practices, in support of the California Public Records Act (CPRA) and the Information Practices Act (IPA) programs. The Analyst II evaluates, analyzes, researches, and prepares reports, special projects, proposed policy and bill analyses pertinent to the PRS. Working Conditions

Mainly office setting 0800 to 1700, Monday through Friday; may require occasional travel for training and/or meetings.

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) serves as documentation of each applicant's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. Each question must be numbered and addressed in the same order as the questions below. The SOQ must be typed, no more than two pages in length, and 12-point Arial font.

Well-developed analytical, written, and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to act independently and use good judgment; creativity and flexibility in problem identification and resolution; excellent interpersonal skills and highly motivated; professional attitude and demeanor; above-average computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel); working knowledge of CHP policies and procedures, CPRA, and IPA programs.
