Who You Are:

An Assistant level designer with focused knowledge and experience in Women’s Handbag design. You are an energetic and collaborative individual with a strong sense of trend awareness and industry knowledge. You are detail oriented and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

What You’ll Do:

\n
• Aid in the design and development of the Women’s Mainline Handbag collection through market research, trend analysis, sketching designs, coloring CADS and building comprehensive full scale specs.
\n
• Reporting to the Senior Designer of MMK Accessories, this position will assist in executing design concepts and managing day-to-day tasks.
\n
• Understand the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into brand relevant product.
\n
• Research competitors and luxury market brands, partake in design inspiration shopping trips and store visits.
\n
• Follow up with overseas factories on a daily basis regarding tech packs, style updates, and new developments.
\n
• Communicate updates and changes to cross functional teams (Production, Merchandising, Materials) as needed.
\n
• Develop developing full-scale technical drawings and comprehensive specification sheets under senior’s approval
\n
• Proactively monitor project milestones and provide regular updates to the manager to support efficient workflow
\n

You’ll Need to Have:

\n
• 0-2 years design experience within accessories.
\n
• Strong design and conceptual skills for Handbags
\n
• Ability to create full scale technical specs utilizing CAD
\n
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
\n
• Experience communicating development with factories
\n

We’d Love to See

\n
• Ability to hand sketch designs and sketch on Adobe Illustrator.
\n
• Excellent sense of style and color.
\n
• Strong knowledge of handbag construction in both leather and alternative non-leather materials.
\n
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
\n
• Design school training such as accessories /industrial /product design
\n
