Discover a rewarding opportunity supporting students’ success in a vibrant elementary setting near Minneapolis, MN. This contract Special Education teaching position is designed for compassionate, skilled educators eager to make a meaningful difference. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated support team and focus on a manageable caseload of up to 10 students at Park Terrace Elementary for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Active Special Education teaching license (PELSB/MDE required; candidates without will not be considered)
- Tier 2 credential required; preference for those with experience as an ASD teacher
- Passion for working in inclusive, elementary school environments
- Strong teamwork, organizational abilities, and excellent communication skills
- Prior experience collaborating with Paraprofessionals and Interveners is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct instruction to special education students, adapting lessons and strategies for diverse learning needs
- Partnering closely with Paras and Interveners to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Regularly assessing student progress and adjusting supports accordingly
- Maintaining accurate documentation and fostering open communication with families and colleagues
- Creating an engaging, safe, and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Participating in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
This role offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 to 40 hours per week from September 1, 2026, through June 4, 2027, providing the chance to contribute across an entire academic year.
