Sous Chef Job Description
Moro’s Kitchen is seeking a passionate and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a scratch kitchen environment, takes pride in craftsmanship, and works well under pressure during busy services.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Lead and support kitchen staff during prep and service
- Execute and maintain consistency across all menu items
- Follow recipes and preparation standards with precision
- Prepare scratch-made sauces, stocks, and pasta
- Assist with fish and meat butchery
- Help with inventory, and food cost control
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
- Contribute to daily and seasonal specials
Qualifications
- Previous sous chef or strong line cook experience preferred
- Experience in a scratch cooking environment
- Ability to follow recipes and plating standards consistently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen
- Knowledge of fresh pasta production, fish fabrication, and meat butchery preferred
- Strong work ethic, communication, and leadership skills
- Availability nights and weekends
