Job Description: Project Coordinator / Project Engineer – Municipal Infrastructure
Location: Houston, TXEmployment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator / Project Engineer to support the delivery of municipal public works infrastructure projects. This role plays a key part in the planning, design, coordination, and execution of water, wastewater, drainage, and underground utility projects that serve public infrastructure needs. The ideal candidate will work closely with licensed engineers, clients, consultants, and internal teams to support project development from concept through construction while ensuring quality, schedule, and budget alignment. Key Responsibilities
• Project Coordination & Engineering Support
• Assist in the development of municipal infrastructure projects from conceptual design through final construction documents.
• Perform technical research, basic engineering tasks, and design support under the direction of a Professional Engineer.
• Prepare construction drawings, reports, specifications, and contract documents.
• Support preparation of opinions of probable cost and engineering estimates. Project Delivery & Execution
• Coordinate tasks, schedules, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
• Assist in maintaining project budgets, timelines, and documentation.
• Track progress and support internal reporting and project updates.
• Construction Administration Support
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and field coordination activities.
• Support quality assurance and quality control processes for project deliverables.
• Help ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
• Communicate and coordinate with internal engineering teams, subconsultants, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Participate in project meetings and support effective communication across all parties.
• Contribute to resolving project issues and maintaining alignment on objectives. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2–6 years of progressive experience in civil engineering.
• Experience or exposure to municipal/public works infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of water, wastewater, drainage, and underground utility systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and project priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
• FE Exam completed and EIT certification preferred.
• Experience supporting construction document preparation and construction administration.
• Familiarity with engineering design tools and civil infrastructure workflows.
• Strong interest in professional development toward licensure (PE). Core Competencies
