About the Role
Our firm is recruiting a Health Services Specialist on behalf of a Minnesota-based health plan. In this role, you'll serve as essential administrative support to a team of Care Coordinators, helping members gain timely access to programs and services. Your work — entering assessments, processing authorizations, and maintaining accurate enrollment records across state and health-plan systems — directly supports the coordination of care for the members served.

Reporting into a care coordination team, the Health Services Specialist completes a variety of administrative tasks that keep member data accurate and up to date. Each Care Coordinator team is paired with an assigned Health Services Specialist who handles activity submissions on its behalf.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Entering assessments into the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) — the state system used to input assessment information and determine a member's eligibility for programs.
• Completing authorization entries for member services.
• Adding staff location and assignment details in MnCHOICES as part of new enrollments.
• Moving contacts in Guiding Care when group numbers change within the same product.
• Managing member mail.
• Submitting team activities in Guiding Care as the designated specialist for an assigned Care Coordinator team.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years of related work experience.
• Experience & Proficiency
  • Proven proficiency in completing administrative tasks.
  • Hands-on data and information entry experience (e.g., processing member authorizations).
  • Experience communicating with care coordination staff and internal employee contacts.
• Key Skills
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Timeliness and efficiency.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with internal customers in a care coordination setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a health care organization and/or health plan setting (helpful, not required).
• Knowledge of or experience with medical terminology (helpful, not required).

Remote Work Requirements

• Must be able to maintain a professional, distraction-free work environment (free from interruptions by family members, roommates, and/or pets).
• Being on camera is required for all meetings and trainings.
