About The Position Must be currently registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as: Associate/Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Associate/Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist The Riverside University Health System -Community Health Clinic is currently recruiting for a Clinical Therapist I/II position located in Moreno Valley. The Clinical Social Therapist I/II will provide comprehensive clinical services to individuals and families with diverse and complex needs. This position requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. To assist in reviewing and referring the most competitive candidates, the essential duties outlined below reflect core responsibilities that contribute to success in this role. The Clinical Social Therapist I/II will conduct biopsychosocial assessments, perform clinical evaluations, and develop individualized treatment plans. The role includes providing individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based therapeutic modalities. The Clinical Social Therapist I/II will also perform case management functions such as care coordination, referrals to community resources, and client advocacy. Accurate and timely documentation is required in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards. This role involves collaboration with mental health, medical, substance use, and social service partners. The Clinical Social Therapist I/II will support clients in crisis, provide safety planning, and participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations. Clinical guidance will be offered regarding complex cases, barriers to engagement, and high‑risk factors impacting client progress. Candidates with previous experience in case management, working with women and families, or providing services aligned with marriage and family therapy (MFT) concepts are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in substance use treatment, detention or corrections‑based behavioral health, domestic violence intervention, and homeless outreach or housing stabilization will be beneficial in supporting the populations served in this role. Candidates should demonstrate experience providing therapeutic services in clinical or community‑based settings, along with strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills. Hourly Salary Range Clinical Therapist I : $31.91 - $46.08 Clinical Therapist II : $36.76 - $52.34 This recruitment is eligible for a 10% DTR differential that is applied to hours worked. For more information, please visit Examples Of Essential Duties Interview consumers, relatives, and other involved persons to gather personal and social data relevant to assessing mental or emotional disorders. Develop service plans with consumers; evaluate psychological, economic, vocational, educational, physical, health, socialization, and housing needs. Coordinate with other staff members (psychiatrists, psychologists, and other program staff) and community agencies in carrying out and designing treatment or rehabilitation plans. Assist consumers and other concerned individuals in understanding the nature of major psychological illnesses and their psychosocial effects. Assist consumers and their families in understanding and choosing options of mental health treatment. Initiate and conduct individual, collateral, group, and family therapy sessions. Establish and maintain effective contact with local area mental health resources, including community members, parents, schools, residential facilities, and other agencies/organizations. Perform specialized tasks including involuntary hospitalization procedures (5150) and Tarasoff assessments. Participate in mental health conferences and local area committees. Prepare reports and write correspondence. Provide guidance to volunteers and staff. Act as a casework consultant to other clinical therapists and other departmental staff. Licensed level, within the scope of licensure, may provide clinical supervision to unlicensed clinicians. Coordinate clinical decisions in response to operational demands. Conduct clinical discussions regarding complex or difficult cases. Respond to emergencies, within licensure, which may occur on the unit. Coordinate the flow of information and clinical data to ensure continuity in treatment or shift. Serve as liaison with other sections, units, services, and agencies. Minimum Qualifications Salary Range: $31.91 - $46.08 Hourly Salary Range: $36.76 - $52.34 Hourly Education Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related behavioral science field. Certificate Clinical Therapist I must have possession of a valid certificate of registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences. Clinical Therapist II must have possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences. Other Requirements Possession of a valid California Driver’s License may be required. Possession of valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificates issued by the American Heart Association may be required. Bilingual Testing The Human Resources Department will coordinate a Bilingual (Spanish) Non‑Proctored Assessment, which may be required for positions designated as bilingual.
