Work Environment

This position is designed for remote work, providing flexibility to accommodate both your schedule and the needs of our clients. Therapists will primarily conduct sessions in clients’ homes or virtually, emphasizing a person-centered approach that ensures each child receives tailored support in a comfortable and familiar environment. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual therapy sessions with clients either in their homes or via teletherapy, adapting your approach to meet the needs of each child and their family.
• Implement behavior management techniques focused on anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development, while actively assessing and mitigating high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious actions or aggressive outbursts.
• Enhance the decision-making skills of adolescents and their caregivers, equipping them with the tools to effectively manage and resolve behavioral challenges in a home setting.
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and interdisciplinary specialists to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to treatment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all therapy sessions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with clinic protocols.
• Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations for program improvements based on observed client needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Wellcure, you will primarily work with children aged 3-20 who have developmental disabilities and cognitive challenges. Your expertise will be pivotal in addressing the unique emotional and psychological needs of these young individuals and their families, thus fostering healthier relationships and facilitating developmental progress.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is essential.
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours from 4-7 pm; weekend hours are a bonus.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are mandatory due to the nature of in-home therapy.
• Completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required before hiring.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support to children with behavioral challenges.
• Previous work with children diagnosed with intellectual or developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is required, as it enables better communication and support for our diverse client population.
