Full Charge Bookkeeper

Location: Novato, CA Schedule: Flexible Hours - Approx. 16 hours per week Accounting Software: QuickBooks Desktop Compensation: Competitive hourly pay, based on experience L. A. Stevens & Associates, Inc is a full-service Land Surveying firm representing public, private, and commercial clients throughout the Bay Area since 1991. About the Position We are a small firm seeking an experienced, dependable Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of our land surveying business. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable bookkeeping professional who enjoys working independently, maintaining accurate financial records, and keeping business operations organized. We offer a flexible schedule for the right candidate who can take ownership of the bookkeeping function and provide reliable financial reporting to management. Responsibilities Manage daily bookkeeping activities using QuickBooks Desktop. Handle vendor payments. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, brokerage accounts, and other balance sheet accounts. Maintain the general ledger and accurate financial records. Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Prepare financial records and reports for the outside CPA. Maintain organized records for tax preparation and compliance. Identify discrepancies and resolve bookkeeping issues independently. Filing of miscellaneous state and federal reports. Qualifications Demonstrated experience as a full-charge bookkeeper. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop. Knowledge of Excel software. Knowledge of accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance including journal entries. Ability to prepare and understand financial statements. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management. Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential financial information. What We Offer Flexible working hours approximately 16 hours per week.
