Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients of all ages using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
• Create individualized treatment strategies that focus on both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Deliver personalized therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language fluency, vocal articulation, and swallowing abilities.
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers, to devise integrated care approaches.
• Educate patients and their families to support ongoing progress beyond clinical interactions.
• Provide occasional evaluations and speech therapy interventions in an inpatient setting, ensuring seamless care throughout the treatment process.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
• Engage in continuous education to remain informed about the latest developments in speech-language pathology.

Education

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
