Airport Operations Specialist

What You Will Be Doing This position is responsible for functionally managing operations of airport terminals, adjacent aircraft parking, and landside areas. It includes seasonal and daily air carrier scheduling of airport‑operated aircraft gates and remote parking spots used by more than 30 air carriers. The role involves creating, updating, and implementing gate management protocols and airport landside activities while ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal Regulations, including FAA, TSA, and CBP. Working Environment The position is located at Anchorage International Airport in the North Terminal. Who We Are Looking For Airport Operations: Knowledge of airfield, air terminal, commercial or general aviation, landside operations, and security procedures under FAA, TSA, state, or military regulations. Oral and Written Communication: Effectively conveys information to individuals or groups, adapts to audience, and listens attentively. Special Note This position requires a valid Alaska driver’s license. Applicants who must use a firearm for wildlife control must comply with federal requirements, and individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence are ineligible. Eligibility for a TSA airport identification badge, which requires fingerprinting and a background check, is mandatory. Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience resolving aircraft operating area (AOA) issues and in commercial or general aviation operations, terminal operations, landside operations, or overseeing snow removal and airport and runway safety operations, subject to FAA, state, or military rules and regulations. Experience as an Airport Operations Officer with the State of Alaska or an equivalent position with another employer is required. (NOTE: Qualifying military experience must reflect ground, airside, and landside operations control experience.)
