Air Import Coordinator

Location: Jamaica, NY
Company/Industry: Large freight forwarder
Schedule: Saturday to Wednesday (off Thurs & Fri) 8:30am-5pm
Salary: $23-25/hr, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate
Type: Temp to hire + Benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with airline representatives to arrange cargo pick-up, confirm shipment details, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Process and pay terminal handling charges and other related fees at the cargo terminal as required.
- Prepare and issue invoices for terminal fees and other service charges to customers or internal departments.
- Submit customs clearance requests and required documentation to customs brokers, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Coordinate with trucking companies to schedule and arrange pick-up and delivery of cargo from the airport terminal to warehouse.
- Open and maintain files for all incoming shipments, ensuring all relevant documents and information are accurately recorded.
- Upload shipping documents and customs paperwork into the customs clearance system and internal databases.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
- Experience in air import operations, freight forwarding, or logistics is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $23.00 - $25.00 Per Hour
