Location: Jamaica, NY

Company/Industry: Large freight forwarder

Schedule: Saturday to Wednesday (off Thurs & Fri) 8:30am-5pm

Salary: $23-25/hr, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate with airline representatives to arrange cargo pick-up, confirm shipment details, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Process and pay terminal handling charges and other related fees at the cargo terminal as required.
• Prepare and issue invoices for terminal fees and other service charges to customers or internal departments.
• Submit customs clearance requests and required documentation to customs brokers, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Coordinate with trucking companies to schedule and arrange pick-up and delivery of cargo from the airport terminal to warehouse.
• Open and maintain files for all incoming shipments, ensuring all relevant documents and information are accurately recorded.
• Upload shipping documents and customs paperwork into the customs clearance system and internal databases.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Experience in air import operations, freight forwarding, or logistics is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $23.00 - $25.00 Per Hour
