Job Description Job Title: Part-time Cafeteria Attendant, Boston Art Academy (FNS SY2627) FTE: 4 hours/day Job Code: Part-time Cafeteria Attendant Reports To: Cafeteria Manager Responsibilities Safe preparation and handling of food. Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities. Serving of food. Assisting with record keeping. Perform duties efficiently and to the best of one’s ability in relation to preparation of food, serving of food, cleaning all areas of the kitchen, or other assigned duties, which may include operation of a cash register, in the time allotted. Attend training meetings as required. Report to work as scheduled, sign the posted time sheet, and remain on the job until dismissal by the manager. Notify the manager and main office at the earliest possible time when unable to work. Maintain pleasant working relations with fellow employees by showing consideration for others: patience, respect, self-control, and refraining from the use of offensive language and other undesirable character traits. Follow all policies of the School Committee and instructions of the Cafeteria Manager relating to safety measures, sanitation practices, personnel standards, work techniques, and methods of performing duties. Perform duties involved in safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, and serving of food. Assist with food preparation. Portion food. Clean kitchen equipment and work area including floor. Set up serving counter. Serve food on line after receiving instructions as to portion size. Wash dishes, trays, flatware, pots, pans and utensils. Wash dining room tables. Unpack supplies and assist with stocking dry storage shelves and/or refrigerator shelves. Operate equipment properly, maintaining safety standards at all times. Perform duties as assigned by Cafeteria Manager. Qualifications - Required High school diploma or GED. Current authorization to work in the United States, required by the first day of employment. Qualifications - Preferred ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate.
