Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, focusing on restoring mobility and alleviating discomfort.
• Supervise and instruct physical therapy assistants to ensure that treatment protocols are followed accurately and effectively.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical conditions through diagnostic tests assessing muscle, nerve, and joint function.
• Assess and adapt rehabilitation strategies based on the home environment, providing recommendations to improve clients' autonomy.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, traction, and other treatments while coaching patients in self-management strategies.
• Evaluate and select appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices and suggest necessary modifications in collaboration with physicians.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights to holistic treatment plans for clients.
• Document clinical evaluations, progress reports, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Consult with clients and their families, ensuring they understand the therapeutic process and are engaged in their care.
• Oversee the timely submission of documentation for clinical and payroll purposes, adhering to the organization's policies.
• Continuously assess patient progress and modify treatment plans based on their response to therapy and changing needs.
• Remain available to address questions and provide support to Physical Therapy Assistants during patient treatments.
• Contribute to the department's goals and objectives by fulfilling additional tasks as assigned.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on orthopedic patients dealing with a variety of musculoskeletal issues, including post-surgical rehabilitation, joint replacements, and injury recovery. You will work with a diverse patient demographic, allowing you to apply your expertise in a variety of therapeutic scenarios tailored to patient rehabilitation goals. Your compassion and clinical acumen will significantly enhance our clients' rehabilitation journeys.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• A minimum of one year of professional experience as a physical therapist.
• Active licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification to ensure readiness in emergencies.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance for travel to patient homes when necessary.
• A willingness to embrace innovative approaches in patient care and to lead efforts toward exceptional treatment outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal skills, allowing effective communication with patients, families, and team members.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 50,000 to 80,000 annually , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
