Practical Law, a division of Thomson Reuters is looking for a Practical Law Intern who has completed their first or second year at an ABA-accredited law school to work with the Capital Markets & Corporate Governance team. About the Role In this opportunity as Practical Law Intern you will: Support the CMCG editorial team in researching, drafting, and maintaining legal practice resources covering capital markets, securities regulation, corporate governance, and startup/venture matters. Key Responsibilities Research current SEC rules, exchange listing standards, and market practice on assigned topics Draft or update Practical Law content (practice notes, standard documents, checklists) under editor supervision Fact-check and cite-check existing resources against primary sources (SEC releases, exchange rules, case law) Track regulatory developments (e.g., SEC rule proposals/adoptions) and flag content impacted About You You’re a fit for the role of a Practical Law Intern if you: Demonstrate strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Demonstrate an ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and express complex legal material quickly and accurately. Have an impressive command of grammar, punctuation, and plain English. Consistently pay strong attention to detail and have good organizational skills. Are able to work independently, consistently meet deadlines, and achieve individual objectives within larger team projects. Have experience using Westlaw and Microsoft Office products. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
