Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home treatment sessions or engage in group therapy activities within our outpatient clinic, adapting techniques to meet the specific needs of each client.

• Implement behavioral interventions to reduce high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior and physical aggression, through teaching effective coping strategies, anger management techniques, and social skills development.
\n
• Enhance decision-making capabilities for children and caregivers by addressing in-home behavioral challenges and fostering consistent communication about behavioral expectations and outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals involved in the client’s care, ensuring a cohesive approach to treatment and support.
\n
• Complete and submit all required documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, within established timeframes to maintain compliance and support continuity of care.
\n
• Engage in regular team meetings, offering insights and recommendations to improve therapeutic approaches and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily involves working with children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities and intellectual impairments. A significant focus is placed on providing positive behavioral support to enhance the quality of life and mental wellness of these young clients. As part of our commitment to inclusive services, we are particularly interested in bilingual therapists who can communicate effectively in Spanish or Portuguese, as this expands our ability to serve diverse communities.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4 PM to 7 PM), with weekend flexibility considered a plus.

• Proficient in providing positive behavior support and implementing therapeutic strategies to address behavioral issues.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required for travel to client homes.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior professional experience working with children ages 3-20, especially those with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with family members and caregivers in a therapeutic setting.

• Experience in implementing evidence-based practices in individual and group therapy contexts.

Compensation and Benefits\n
