Mission-Centered Financial and Administrative Leadership
The Chief Finance and Administration Officer brings strategic leadership, sound fiscal stewardship, and collaborative guidance to support Wyman’s mission, growth, and long-term financial and administrative health. This executive leader partners with the CEO, Senior Management Team, Board of Trustees, and Finance Committee to strengthen financial systems, reporting, controls, and planning practices that support informed decisions and mission-centered impact, while contributing to long-term strategy.

Financial and Administrative Leadership Responsibilities
· Lead Wyman’s overall financial strategy, including accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow planning, investments, and long-range financial modeling.

· Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Senior Management Team, Board of Trustees, and Finance Committee on financial position, sustainability, risk, capital priorities, and emerging financial considerations.

· Oversee accurate and timely monthly close processes, financial statements, audit preparation, Form 990 preparation, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

· Strengthen and monitor Wyman’s internal control environment, financial policies, grants and contract controls, business insurance coverage, enterprise risk management practices, and administrative systems.

· Serve as the primary executive liaison to commercial banking, investment management, external audit, insurance, information technology, and other finance- and administration-related partners.

· Lead, support, and develop Finance and Administration department team members, fostering clarity, accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

· Set annual Finance and Administration department goals aligned with Wyman’s strategic framework and ensure the team achieves those goals on time, on plan, and on budget.

· Build a culture of collaboration and partnership, ensuring confidence across departments that financial and administrative systems, processes, and guidance are responsive, collaborative, and aligned with program delivery, donor engagement, grant compliance, and strategic priorities.

· Ensure strong agency administrative functions that support effective organizational operations, including business insurance, risk management, information technology coordination, vendor relationships, and related operational systems.

· Partner with Camp Wyman Experiences and other teams on long-range capital and infrastructure forecasts, capital campaign financial data, and facilities-related contract review.

· Identify, evaluate, and support revenue, funding, and resource strategies that help sustain and grow Wyman’s work.

Measures of Mission, Financial, and Administrative Success
· Success in this role will be demonstrated through clear, trusted, and timely financial and administrative information that supports informed decision-making by the CEO, Senior Management Team, Board of Trustees, Finance Committee, and department leaders.

· Strengthens Wyman’s long-term financial and administrative sustainability through effective forecasting, budgeting, cash flow planning, risk management, business insurance oversight, vendor coordination, systems support, and stewardship of resources.

· Maintains strong financial controls, administrative practices, compliance systems, audit readiness, risk management processes, and reporting practices that reflect accuracy, transparency, accountability, and operational reliability.

· Builds a culture of collaboration and partnership across departments, ensuring confidence that financial and administrative systems, processes, guidance, and service delivery are responsive, transparent, collaborative, and aligned with program delivery, donor engagement, grant compliance, and strategic priorities.

· Develops and supports Finance and Administration team members by fostering clarity, accountability, learning, collaboration, and professional growth.

· Aligns financial strategies, administrative systems, resource planning, and stewardship practices with Wyman’s mission, values, equity commitments, and desired impact for young people and communities.

Success in this role will be reflected in both strong financial stewardship and the quality of leadership, partnership, and organizational confidence the Chief Finance and Administration Officer help build over time.

Executive Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, professional learning, and executive-level experience.

· Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, organizational leadership, or a related field, demonstrating the judgment, perspective, and technical confidence needed for executive-level financial leadership.

· Five or more years of experience leading, supervising, coaching, or developing teams in ways that promote accountability, trust, collaboration, and growth.

· Experience in not-for-profit finance, grant accounting, or mission-driven organizations is strongly preferred, especially experience that demonstrates thoughtful stewardship, compliance awareness, and alignment of resources with mission impact.

· CPA certification, MBA, or related advanced degree is preferred.

· Strong financial strategy, accounting, analytical, financial modeling, consultation, risk management, and enterprise planning skills.

· Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and financial management systems, with the ability to learn and apply organization-specific tools. Wyman currently uses MIP Abila.

· Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting for not-for-profit organizations and nonprofit compliance expectations.

· Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to people with different roles and levels of financial experience.

Work Location and Travel
This role is requires part on-site work, with flexibility for work-from-home or hybrid work. The Chief Finance and Administration Officer works in a professional office environment and may travel to meetings and business locations within and beyond the St. Louis region as needed.
