Business Development Specialist

A client in the distribution space is experiencing continued growth and is seeking a Business Development Representative to help expand existing customer relationships while identifying new business opportunities. This role is ideal for a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys working cross-functionally and wants to be part of a collaborative, tight-knit team. About the role: Unlike traditional sales positions, this role focuses heavily on account management, customer service, business development, and operational coordination rather than cold-calling or commission-driven sales. Grow and maintain relationships with existing customers and accounts. Identify and develop new business opportunities and markets. Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding orders, shipments, and account needs. Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain shipment updates and production timelines. Partner with logistics teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve transportation issues. Work closely with accounting to verify payments prior to material release. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with factories on product availability and lead times. Collaborate daily with sales support, customer service, logistics, accounting, and operations teams. Required Qualifications Previous sales, account management, customer service, business development, or outside sales experience. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively in a small, highly collaborative office environment. Professional, personable, and team-oriented personality. Experience working within distribution, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, industrial products, or related industries. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. This is not a commission-based role. The flat salary for this role can pay anywhere from $65K-$85K a year depending on years of experience.
