Make a meaningful impact by supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of high school students as a contract school counselor for the upcoming academic year. Two counselor positions are available, offering a dynamic opportunity to engage with students in a high school setting and guide them toward their educational and personal goals. The assignment begins August 31, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027, with a full-time commitment.

This role is ideal for skilled counselors who thrive on building relationships, collaborating with fellow educators, and helping students develop the skills they need to succeed during their high school journey.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan education certificate with School Counselor Endorsement (please include your license and certifications with your application)
• Prior experience working with high school populations preferred
• Strong knowledge of academic advising and counseling best practices
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to support students through academic planning, crisis intervention, and post-secondary transitions

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one and group academic counseling for high school students
• Assist with course selection, scheduling, and post-secondary planning
• Address student concerns regarding academics, behavior, or social-emotional well-being
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and monitor student plans
• Participate in professional development and contribute to a supportive campus climate
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies and legal requirements
