Solution Engineer (Pre-Sales) – SAP S/4 Transformation
Location: Remote (US) w/ travel
Overview
This role is designed for SAP professionals who want to move beyond delivery and into a more strategic, client-facing position.
You will work at the front end of SAP S/4 transformation initiatives, partnering with clients and internal teams to shape solutions before implementation begins. This is an opportunity to influence how projects are defined, structured, and ultimately won.
Responsibilities
You will play a key role across the full sales cycle, collaborating with sales, delivery, and partner teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with clients to define SAP S/4 transformation strategies
- Translating business requirements into scalable SAP solutions
- Leading client workshops and discovery sessions
- Designing solutions across SAP and data migration scenarios
- Supporting RFP and RFI responses under tight timelines
- Contributing to pricing, estimation, and deal structuring
- Delivering product demonstrations and articulating solution value
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including sales, product, and delivery
- Acting as a trusted advisor to both technical and business stakeholders
Qualifications
Our client is looking for candidates with a strong SAP foundation who are ready to take on a more strategic role.
Required:
- 5-10+ years experience in a consultant role with a Systems Integrator
- 2-5+ years experience in solution engineering / pre-sales
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations
- Experience with data migration, data conversion, or transformation projects
- Client-facing experience, including workshops or stakeholder engagement
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel at least on at least 2 out of 4 weeks per month
Preferred:
- Experience with SAP modules such as FI, SD, and/or MM
- Exposure to pre-sales activities such as RFPs, proposals, or solution design
- Background in a consulting or system integrator environment
- Understanding of SAP architecture and S/4HANA principles
