Senior Accountant

Montgomery County, MD | In-Office | $90,000–$110,000 About the Role A growing, PE-backed company in the commercial services space is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a lean, high-performing finance team. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership of the month‑end close, direct exposure to M&A integration activity, and a clear path to Accounting Manager for the right candidate. Responsibilities Own month‑end close responsibilities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting. Maintain and improve balance sheet reconciliation process. Support acquisition accounting and opening balance sheet review. Partner with leadership to elevate documentation standards and drive process improvement. Provide analytical support to FP&A as needed. Qualifications Public accounting background required; audit focus preferred. 4+ years of total experience; true senior‑level tenure in accounting required. Hands‑on GL experience: journal entries, reconciliations, active close participation. Process improvement orientation — strong documentation instincts needed. Ambitious and growth‑minded; this role is not suited for a career senior accountant.
