Details Work in the PACU unit of a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital Provide pre and post procedure care for interventional pulmonology patients undergoing bronchoscopy, EBUS, thoracoscopy, navigational bronchoscopy, pleural procedures, and thoracentesis Care for both inpatients and outpatients across 3 rooms and 6 beds Patient ratio of 1:4 with an average daily census of 10 and 5 visits per day Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM with no weekends, holidays, or call Will float within service line to other procedural spaces in Ambulatory Services offering similar pre and post procedure care Uses Epic for charting Requirements Active MO or compact RN license required BLS and ACLS certification required 5 years of procedural and/or critical care or PACU experience required Epic charting experience required Must pass Relias EKG exam demonstrating dysrhythmia interpretation and management Comfortable placing IVs and obtaining 12-lead EKGs Experience with pre/post endoscopy, IR, and operative procedures Skilled in pre-op assessment, pre-op education, and review of history and physical Experience with isolation precautions, pain assessment and management, and RASS Moderate sedation recovery experience required; conscious sedation experience preferred Port certification preferred Additional Information Prep patients for procedures by conducting intake assessments, attaching monitors, and placing IVs Recover patients post-procedure and provide education to patients and families Patients are discharged home or transferred back to the floor, with some transfers to ICU Navy blue scrubs required First-time travelers will not be accepted Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing or must be shaved, no exceptions Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months and must take a 3-month break in service afterward Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment American Traveler Job ID P-750747.
