Accounting Operations & Ownership Take ownership of the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including: General ledger management Accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight Payroll processing and payroll-related reporting Bank reconciliations and account reconciliations Month-end and year-end close processes Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and supports business decision-making Partner with external CPAs and vendors on tax compliance, audits, and financial requirements Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficiencies Accounting Operations & Ownership Take ownership of the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including: General ledger management Accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight Payroll processing and payroll-related reporting Bank reconciliations and account reconciliations Month-end and year-end close processes Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and supports business decision-making Partner with external CPAs and vendors on tax compliance, audits, and financial requirements Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficiencies Financial Reporting & Business Growth Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting Help leadership better understand company performance through accurate reporting and analysis Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as the company continues to mature Provide insight into profitability, cash management, and operational trends Serve as a financial resource and thought partner to the Owner/CEO Team Leadership & Development Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a small accounting team Manage and mentor team members responsible for AP/AR and daily accounting activities Help create structure, processes, and best practices as the company grows Lead through collaboration and accountability while maintaining a positive team culture Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience blending accounting and FP&A in a small-medium size business Confident in leading ME-close + running payroll function. Technical Skills: QuickBooks Online + advanced in Microsoft Excel Soft Skills: High attention to detail for the accounting side + big-picture strategic thinking for the finance side with the Ability to lead 2-3 direct reports Non-Local Candidates: Please note that you are competing with local candidates who don’t require relocation expenses and can start quickly, so let us know if you have plans to move to the area soon.
