Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including management of emergent perinatal situations and circulating for C-sections.
- Assess maternal and fetal status, monitor amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and fetal well-being; recognize and respond to abnormalities.
- Manage pain control during labor and postpartum periods; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor patient status post-procedure.
- Educate patients and families across all stages of perinatal care, tailoring education to age, culture, and learning readiness.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement goal-directed care plans; assign and supervise ancillary staff within scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate, legible documentation of nursing care in the electronic medical record and evaluate patient response to interventions.

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience; LDRP model experience
- No on-call requirements
- EPIC electronic medical record experience
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Ability to work night shifts and meet the responsibilities of a high-acuity perinatal unit
