Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available with a well-established 200+ bed community hospital located in Alexandria, LA. This 13-week contract role offers a dynamic work environment where you will play an integral part in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients within a collaborative healthcare team.

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Position Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule:

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Rotating shifts may vary between 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Every other weekend coverage required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform order verification to ensure accuracy and patient safety
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians to optimize workflow
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to provide expert pharmaceutical consultations
  • Manage pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring to support individualized patient care
  • Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication administration and documentation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current pharmacist license and credentials in good standing
  • Proficient in clinical pharmacy operations within a hospital setting
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record and Pyxis automated dispensing systems
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • BLS certification via American Heart Association
