Executive Chef

Position Summary The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing all culinary operations within the senior living community, ensuring high-quality, nutritious, and appealing meals for residents while maintaining strict food safety and budgetary standards. This role leads the dietary team, develops menus that meet regulatory requirements and resident preferences, and creates a positive dining experience that enhances residents’ quality of life. Essential Responsibilities Plan, develop, and execute seasonal menus that meet residents’ nutritional needs and comply with state, federal, and company guidelines. Ensure all meals are prepared and presented with a focus on quality, taste, texture modification, and visual appeal. Accommodate special dietary needs, including therapeutic, modified texture, and physician-ordered diets. Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate kitchen and dietary staff. Maintain food cost controls, inventory management, and vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and health department requirements. Oversee and actively participate in ordering, receiving, storage, and rotation of food and supplies. Collaborate with the Executive Director and clinical team to support resident wellness and satisfaction. Participate in resident council meetings and incorporate feedback into menu planning. Lead special events, holiday meals, and themed dining experiences. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Qualifications Minimum of 3–5 years of culinary leadership experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or institutional dining. Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. Knowledge of therapeutic diets and modified food preparation techniques. ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage budgets and control food and labor costs. Commitment to delivering exceptional service to seniors and their families.
