Role Overview

\n

As a Forward Deployed Manufacturing Engineer , you will work directly with manufacturing teams to translate real-world build processes into structured, scalable workflows within BuildOS. You will act as a digital manufacturing engineer, helping customers move from legacy processes to a model-based, software-driven system. You will be deeply embedded during pilots and early deployments, ensuring customers not only understand the product—but successfully adopt it.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Translate customer assembly processes into BuildOS workflows
\n
• Create and structure work instructions from CAD and engineering data
\n
• Lead onboarding and drive adoption during pilots and early deployments
\n
• Act as a trusted advisor to manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams
\n
• Identify inefficiencies in customer workflows and propose improvements
\n
• Partner with product and engineering to surface high-impact feedback
\n
• Support demos, technical evaluations, and customer check-ins
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Background in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
\n
• Experience working in or closely with manufacturing environments
\n
• Strong intuition for how things are built in the real world
\n
• Ability to break down and structure complex assembly workflows
\n
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
\n
• High ownership and comfort working directly with customers
\n

Technical Background

\n

\n
• Experience with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.)
\n
• Familiarity with PLM / ERP systems and manufacturing workflows
\n
• Understanding of EBOM / MBOM concepts and production processes
\n
• Experience creating or managing work instructions
\n

Compensation

\n

Base: $90,000 - $120,000 + Equity

\n

\n

Location & Travel

\n

This is a hybrid role with frequent travel to customer sites. Candidates should be based out of New York City.
