Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners as a speech-language pathologist in a part-time, onsite position serving K-2 students. This contract opportunity begins with a comprehensive orientation scheduled for August 12-14 and continues throughout the upcoming school year. You’ll play a crucial part in helping students develop vital communication skills within a nurturing, specialized educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold current Illinois SLP licensure and Professional Educator License (PEL); both must be verified and provided prior to placement.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility for strong Clinical Fellow (CF) considered.
- Experience or interest in working within school settings, particularly with early elementary (K-2) children.
- Effective communicator who collaborates well in multidisciplinary teams.
- Organized, compassionate, and committed to student growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy, intervention, and assessments for a K-2 caseload of 9 students onsite.
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support IEP goals.
- Adapt intervention strategies and materials to individual student needs within an engaging classroom environment.
- Participate in team meetings, contribute to IEP development, and provide progress updates as required.
- Remain current with educational best practices and compliance requirements for school-based therapy.
