NTL Online Faculty, Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor (Family Nurse

Position Description Location: The St. David’s School of Nursing at Texas State University is seeking two clinical nursing faculty positions at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level for a nine-month appointment with potential for summer employment. The School of Nursing is one of eight academic programs within the College of Health Professions. We look for a collaborative, student-centered educator who values shared governance, contributes positively to team culture, and actively engages in a collegial academic environment that supports faculty, staff, students, and community partners. The responsibilities include participation in teaching, simulation, curriculum development, and maintenance of program and accreditation standards. Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activities, as well as academic service to the school, college, and university. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The selected candidate will be given the appropriate rank and title based on college and university policy and established standards. Required Qualifications For the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor: Earned Master of Science degree in nursing from an accredited university. Earned FNP Master of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited University. National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Eligible for an RN and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in Texas. Demonstrated clinical competence as a Family Nurse Practitioner (minimum two years of full-time current practice experience). Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning consistent with the program vision, mission, and goals as evidenced by a presentation to faculty. Evidence of ability to work effectively and collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners, contributing to a positive team environment. For the rank of Clinical Associate Professor, in addition to those required above: A demonstrated record of accomplishments or activities in scholarship, teaching, and service. A minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience at the university level. Demonstrated strong collegial relationships. Preferred Qualifications For both ranks: Earned doctorate in nursing or similar healthcare field or enrolled in a doctoral nursing program with an earned bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing. Teaching experience utilizing distance education modalities, including on-line instruction and virtual simulation. Demonstrated collegial leadership and team development. Experience in building and promoting community relationships and partnerships in clinical or academic settings. Experience in higher education including accreditation, program development, assessment, and curriculum design.
