Within EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution sub service line, the Deal Technology practice works on the most complex and high-profile global transactions, across a broad portfolio of clients and industry sectors. We are a group of experienced industry professionals with a background in IT who are serial transaction advisers, which enables us to bring a wealth of deep sector and functional knowledge to our clients. As a team, we prepare and execute separation and integration plans, identify ideas and sources of value enhancement, as well as advise on risk mitigation and the successful change of operations, functions, and people.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Director with EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution PE Deal Technology practice, you will be a vital member of the team executing IT focused projects. You will work directly with PE investment teams, operating partners, and portfolio CIOs, CTOs, helping them assess technology risk, scalability, and value creation potential enabled by technology in the context of an investment thesis. You'll execute projects across all PE sector investments, directing our client service team in developing and executing strategies for transactions. You will also be focusing on business and practice development as well as developing team members to achieve their career goals.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or Analytics and 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience.
  • MBA is preferred.
  • Significant Business Systems/Enterprise Architecture, Software engineering, or M&A advisory consulting experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the confidence to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
  • An understanding of how Private Equity dynamics work, navigating stakeholders across investment teams, operating partners/advisors, and leaders at the Portfolio Companies
  • Experience in business integrations, divestitures, and/or carve-outs with a demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Experience leading and managing in complex business environments.
  • The ability to synthesize approaches to complex integration/divestiture conflicts.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally.
  • IT strategy
  • Enterprise or solution architecture for modern application platforms
  • Software-centric product environments (SaaS, cloud native, API based ecosystems)
  • IT Diligence
  • Software architecture and custom application development (e.g., Java, C#, Python, APIs, and Data Lake platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks)
  • Digital Technology Strategy
  • ERP and business systems (CRM, HRIS, PSA, etc.) implementation
  • Digital business enablement using digital technology enablers (i.e., advanced analytics, AI, machine learning,)
  • Middle-ware software / custom integrations
  • Cloud SaaS/PaaS strategy and delivery
  • Certifications in TOGAF, Agile Scrum (CSM), ITIL, or CISA highly desired.
  • You must either reside in or be in a commutable distance to your office location for this position.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

Ideally, you will have

  • Demonstrated expertise in leading technology initiatives in an enterprise for core business systems, designing and architecting automation of workflow, data analytics, middleware platforms, and core ITSM functions such as CMDB, Hardware Asset Management, cloud-based IAM and PAM.
  • A proven record of excellence in IT mergers or acquisitions transactions role is a plus.
  • Experience gained within another large professional services organization.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.
  • Established networking skills in a relevant industry.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $250,000 to $290,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
