St. Charles, Missouri law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal / Legal Secretary to join our team. This position provides both substantive litigation support and day-to-day administrative support to attorneys.

The successful candidate will work closely with partners, associates, and support staff, and will play an important role in keeping cases organized, deadlines on track, and attorneys supported throughout all phases of litigation.  

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm setting.
• Hands-on experience with all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, document review, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and electronic filings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of grammar and attention to detail.
• Highly organized, dependable, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Provide substantive litigation and administrative support to attorneys.
• Prepare and proofread pleadings, correspondence, discovery, motions, and other legal documents.
• Assist with discovery, document production, records, subpoenas, and e-discovery.
• Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, meetings, and attorney calendars.
• Manage and maintain case files, litigation calendars, deadlines, and electronic documents.
• Prepare materials for depositions, mediation, hearings, and trial.
• Assist with electronic court filings and general legal secretarial duties.
• Save and organize emails, correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other documents in the firm's document management system.
• Monitor deadlines and follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely completion.
• Assist with billing and time-entry processes as needed.
• Assist with incoming and outgoing correspondence and communications.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and witnesses.
• Provide additional support to the litigation team as needed.
