As a Business Manager at LJA Accounting, you will be responsible for supporting operations and accounting management for all project accounting needs.

A typical day might include:

• Supporting general Project Accounting for specified groups/offices/sectors to include project setup, billing, AP coding/entry, collections
• Helping manage Project Accounting staff and Project Administrators as needed for supported group/office/sector
• Assisting operations management/Project Managers to meet accounting deadlines for billing/revenue monthly cycle
• Assisting with ERP system guidance & training for PMs/operations management
• Tracking & reporting project labor and expenses including subconsultants, contract labor, and reimbursable expenses as needed for PMs/management
• Reporting for operations management, as needed, to include project reports, financial reports, accounts receivable reports, etc
• Analyzing variances to ensure complete and accurate billing and revenue accrual

Job Responsibilities:

• Operations Management support
• General office support when needed – back up & support for administrative staff
• VP/Sector Lead Support
• Project Accounting Analyst support and guidance; training if needed
• Project Accounting Manager support as requested
• Coordinating as needed with IT and facilities staff

Required Education/License/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred (or equal extensive & relevant experience)
• Master's Degree or CPA preferred

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in a project accounting role
• 5+ years of supervisory/management experience preferred
• Experience with ERP project-based accounting systems (BST, Deltek, Clearview/InFocus, etc.)

Ideally, you should also have:

• Experience in the Engineering or Construction industry preferred
