Work Environment

Located in Fredericksburg, VA, our rehabilitation center offers a supportive onsite work environment where you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. The position requires you to work 40 hours per week, including some variable weekends, allowing you to adapt to the scheduling needs of our patient population. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with functional limitations and disabilities, and design individualized treatment plans based on findings.
• Implement therapeutic interventions, including physical modalities, exercise therapy, and patient education, and revise plans as needed based on patient progress.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care and continuity throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Document all treatment actions, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date electronic health record to meet regulatory and professional standards.
• Supervise and mentor support staff, including physical therapy aides and assistants, fostering a nurturing learning environment.
• Participate in departmental meetings and leadership initiatives including community outreach and continuous quality improvement (CQI) projects.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through in-service training and continued education to stay current with industry best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. You will design and execute rehabilitation strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, helping them regain strength and mobility. Your ability to adapt treatment plans based on patient feedback and progress is crucial for delivering excellent care.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required for this position. Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy may be considered if they have relevant experience.
• Licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia is mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with the capability to engage with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Proficient computer skills for documentation and coordination of patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Clinical experience in orthopedic rehabilitation is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
