Accounts Payable Specialist Full time Pettis County Missouri Position Summary The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the Center for Human Services’ (CHS) mission by performing and coordinating accounting duties within the organization, in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Responsible for Performing and Coordinating Accounting Duties by: Ensuring proper general ledger coding, obtains approval from relevant departments, and processes invoices for payment in accounting software. Ensuring appropriate cost allocation of company expenses in the accounting software. Processing daily ACH and positive pay files for issued payments. Reviewing executed contracts to confirm accuracy of vendor billing prior to payment. Reviewing, approving, and posting credit card transactions from MyCentralPay to the accounting software. Reviewing, approving, and posting staff expense reimbursements from Paycom to the accounting software. Researching outstanding checks. Preparing monthly reports, as assigned, by generating reports in NetSuite, Excel, and other applications. Purchasing supplies for the Finance department. Maintaining electronic vendor files and ensuring accuracy and completeness of vendor records. Participating in annual financial audits Assisting and performing other duties and provides backup support as assigned. Maintains Compliance As Needed By Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of CHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure their correct application in financial statements preparation and to provide accurate responses to inquiries from CHS employees. Completing training as required and seeking technical training opportunities for applications specific to the business needs of the organization. Skills And Abilities Critical thinking skills Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications Strong organizational skills COMPETENCIES Adaptability Attention to detail Initiative Analyzes data Problem solving ability Relating to others Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Associate degree (AA or AAS) in related field plus two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience to equal four years. Intermediate Excel skills including the ability to combine and manipulate large sets of data. Must provide proof of valid driver’s license and personal valid vehicle insurance. Time management and organizational skills. PREFERRED EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms is preferred.
