HEALTH PROGRAM ANALYST I/EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS HOMELESSNESS

Job Overview Department of Mental Health seeks Health Program Analyst I vacancies related to the homelessness crisis in Los Angeles County. This hiring is under an emergency order and offers initial employment for up to 90 days with potential for permanent appointment. Applicants must meet selection requirements at filing. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and evaluate health‑focused programs. Assist with program policies, goals, and objectives. Prepare grants and ensure compliance with grant requirements. Coordinate planning and development of program budgets; monitor established budgets. Evaluate contract activities for compliance, service delivery, operations, and budgets. Gather and analyze information for program evaluation and prepare reports and correspondence. Formulate and present recommendations to management for program modifications or corrective action. Coordinate focus groups with clients about quality of care issues. Assist in development of community action plans and aid policy passage and implementation. Represent or advocate for client needs and rights at hearings or meetings with service providers. Selection Requirements Option I : Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in one of the specified fields and two years of experience at the Management Analyst level in mental health or public health program analysis. Option I may also be satisfied with a Master’s degree substituting one year of experience. Option II : Four years of experience in mental health or public health program analysis, two of which at the Management Analyst level. License Requirement A valid California Class C driver license or ability to use alternative transportation. Physical Class Class II – Light: Administrative and clerical duties with light physical effort. Lifting limited to 10 pounds, occasional bending or squatting. Special Requirements Accreditation: Degrees must be from accredited institutions as defined by NACES or AICE. Official transcripts: Legible copy from institution’s registrar, with seal, required at time of application.
