Step into an impactful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, making a difference in elementary classrooms near the Andover, MN area. Two rewarding positions are available for the 2026-2027 school year at two supportive schools: one within an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) program in Maplewood, and the other in Shoreview. The schedule runs from August 31, 2026, through June 9, 2027, with working hours from 9:30am to 4:00pm, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to inclusive education and have a strong foundation in best practices for students with special needs. You’ll collaborate with faculty and families, innovating classroom experiences while fostering growth for every student.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education License (Tier 3 or 4)
- Additional ABS or ASD endorsement required
- Experience creating and delivering individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners
- Familiarity with elementary curriculum and positive behavior supports
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
In this role, you will:
- Create a supportive, structured environment for all students
- Deliver tailored instruction in either an ASD-focused program or a general special education setting
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Engage with families and school staff to foster student success
