Embrace a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher for elementary-aged students with developmental cognitive disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. This full-time contract position runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, and offers a dynamic and supportive school environment with a manageable caseload of approximately 6-10 students in a Setting 3 classroom. As a valued expert, you will focus solely in one building, providing stability and fostering deeper connections with your students and colleagues.
What you'll bring:
- Hold a teaching license with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) endorsement; Tier 3 or 4 credentials required
- Demonstrated experience with EBD (Emotional Behavioral Disorders) in a Setting 3 cluster, ideally at the elementary level
- Passion for individualized instruction and inclusive practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Strong communication, organization, and behavior management skills
Your key responsibilities:
- Create, implement, and adapt individualized education plans for students with diverse learning needs in a structured Setting 3 environment
- Develop engaging instructional materials and activities for students with DCD and ASD
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages independence and social growth
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust strategies to ensure student success
- Partner with support staff, therapists, and families to provide holistic care
- Maintain detailed records and support compliance with school and state educational standards
This full-time contract offers a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, allowing you to focus your expertise in one location for the full school year.
