Grants Strategy & Operation Manager

A private family office is seeking an experienced Grants Strategy and Operations professional to support its philanthropic activities. This role helps develop program strategies, source and diligence organizations, and execute approved grants. Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite/Hybrid) Compensation: The annual base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000 Benefits: Benefits available to eligible employees include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick leave, retirement savings plans, and other employer sponsored programs. SUMMARY

This is a high-trust, behind-the-scenes philanthropy role blending program strategy, grant operations, and relationship management within a discreet family office. You will work on a small, cross-trained team where responsibilities flex over time and all members handle work across the full breadth of grantmaking activities. The role suits a curious, thorough operator who can anticipate needs, juggle multiple workstreams, and partner closely with internal leaders and external advisors. Discretion and sound judgment are central, given the sensitive and confidential nature of the work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Help develop program strategies in partnership with internal leaders and external collaborators, including research into potential program areas. Communicate complex strategy options and considerations clearly in written materials for decision-makers. Manage multiple program strategy workstreams simultaneously, facilitating sourcing and diligence within each. Execute approved grants day to day, working independently and with collaborators. Manage communications with grant recipients, including processing grant information and handling follow-on funding requests. Maintain accurate, timely grant records in a secure CRM and filing environment. Share responsibility for incoming correspondence, including routing and responding to sensitive communications. Ensure grant information is accurate for the donor's public communications, and support special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years in consulting, philanthropic advising, and/or program management. Working knowledge of program strategy development, nonprofit operations, and grantmaking. Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to varied audiences. Exceptional organization, project management, and attention to detail across competing priorities. Highest level of discretion, integrity, and trustworthiness when handling confidential information.

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM. Background working within a family office or private philanthropic environment. Experience with and enthusiasm for operating in a start-up-style setting with a rapid rate of change.
