The Role
As Medical Director Veterinarian, this leader will guide medical standards, mentor clinicians and support staff, and foster an environment focused on compassionate, client-centered care.
- Lead medical quality, case review, and best-practice protocols
- Provide high-quality general practice care, including wellness, dentistry, diagnostics, and soft-tissue surgery
- Collaborate on scheduling and workflow to support patient care and team balance, including limited Saturday coverage
- Support client education and long-term relationships through clear, empathetic communication
- Partner with hospital leadership on operational priorities such as inventory, pharmacy, and compliance
- Champion a positive, collaborative culture with ongoing coaching and mentorship

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent from an accredited institution
- License (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in New Mexico
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA license (or eligibility); willingness to serve as clinic DEA registrant
- Strong communication skills and a client-centered approach
- Prior leadership experience or clear interest and aptitude for clinical mentorship
