Key Qualifications:

• Active Secondary Generalist Certification (required)
• Valid Special Education (SPED) Certification (required)
• Previous experience teaching in a high school or ALE (Alternative Learning Environment) setting is preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and evaluate tailored lesson plans that address students’ varying academic and behavioral needs
• Manage an ALE classroom, providing differentiated instruction and support
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure students’ success
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and IEP compliance
• Communicate regularly with families and participate in meetings as needed
• Use effective classroom management strategies to create a safe, structured environment
