Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant to join our team! As a key member of our finance department, you will manage essential bookkeeping functions, support accounting processes, and ensure accurate financial record-keeping. Your proactive approach and strong understanding of accounting principles will help us maintain compliance and produce reliable financial reports that drive informed decision-making. Duties Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks. Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy across all financial accounts. Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections. Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Support budgeting efforts by tracking expenses and assisting with financial analysis for various projects. Maintain meticulous records of journal entries, debits & credits, and account activity in accordance with governmental accounting standards when applicable. Qualifications Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Understanding of corporate accounting principles, including GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping. Knowledge of financial concepts like account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management. Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail in account analysis and financial report writing. Basic proficiency in budgeting processes and financial statement preparation.
