Emerald Valley PT is actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Full-Time Orthopedic Physical Therapist to enhance our outpatient orthopedic clinic located in beautiful Fort Myers, Florida. This role is pivotal in helping patients regain mobility, alleviate pain, and improve their overall functional capabilities through tailored rehabilitation strategies.

Work Environment

The position is onsite, operating from our state-of-the-art facility that focuses on home care rehabilitation. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life experience. Our clinic is designed to provide comfortable and effective spaces for therapy, equipped with modern therapeutic tools and technologies to meet diverse patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive patient evaluations to understand their functional status, needs, and goals and developing individualized treatment protocols accordingly.
• Implementing evidence-based physical therapy interventions, such as manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise regimes, and various modalities, to address musculoskeletal conditions.
• Working closely with referring physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Providing education and resources to patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and preventative strategies to encourage ongoing healing and mobility improvements.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously and in a timely manner, adhering to the clinic's standards, and contributing to quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
• Participating in team meetings and training sessions, actively contributing to discussions regarding best practices and service enhancements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role, you will work with a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Each patient will present unique challenges, requiring sensitivity to their individual recovery journeys and a commitment to delivering tailored therapeutic interventions that facilitate their healing and independence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Florida.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's in Physical Therapy (MPT) from an accredited program is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy is preferred, although new graduates demonstrating exceptional skills and dedication are encouraged to apply.
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation protocols, therapeutic techniques, and patient assessment methodologies.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to effectively interact with patients and the healthcare team.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of direct outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred, we welcome applications from enthusiastic new graduates who have completed clinical rotations in orthopedics.
