Our client, a well‑established and growing manufacturing company in Western New York, is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their Supply Chain team! Position Highlights On‑site / Full‑time / Direct‑hire Salary range based on experience: Up to $80K This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and production planning. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring materials and services are available to support production while driving cost savings, supplier performance, and continuous improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, equipment, and services to support production requirements. Analyze ERP/MRP demand and production schedules to maintain optimal inventory levels. Create, modify, and manage purchase orders while ensuring timely supplier deliveries. Negotiate pricing, lead times, contracts, and delivery schedules with domestic and international suppliers. Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements. Coordinate with production, engineering, receiving, and finance teams to resolve material shortages, delivery issues, and invoice discrepancies. Support sourcing initiatives, new product introductions, and product lifecycle changes. Monitor purchasing metrics and prepare reports to support supply chain performance. Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Maintain accurate purchasing records while ensuring ethical procurement practices. Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or material planning experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning. Experience with supplier negotiations, RFQs, purchase orders, and inventory management. Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a deadline‑driven manufacturing environment.
