Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and document client histories from initial consultations through ongoing treatment.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, considering unique client needs and backgrounds.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing various therapeutic modalities to enhance client engagement.

• Monitor and assess client progress throughout treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team that includes other mental health professionals, medical doctors, and case managers to formulate comprehensive treatment strategies.

• Maintain regular communication with psychiatrists regarding medication management for clients requiring additional psychiatric support.

• Proactively identify and address behaviors that may hinder client recovery, providing education and resources to clients and their families.

• Support family members and caregivers in understanding and managing the mental and behavioral challenges of their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Allied Behavioral Health Center, you will be working primarily with diverse populations struggling with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Our clients may come from different cultural backgrounds, and understanding these dynamics is crucial for delivering culturally competent care. Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• Successful completion and passing scores on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, with the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably AVATAR, for maintaining accurate client documentation and treatment records.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with clients experiencing co-occurring disorders related to addiction and mental health.

• Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Strong understanding of medications prescribed by medical specialists and their effects on mental health.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities to build rapport with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
