RN - Surgical Medical Unit

Position Overview Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital is a proud Magnet Hospital awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This 16‑bed surgical unit provides a family atmosphere and friendly, positive work environment. As an RN you will assist caregivers and provide exceptional care from admission to discharge. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Educate patients and their families. Shift Schedule Day/night rotation: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday rotation requirements. Benefits RN Loan Repayment program to help pay off student debt. Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well‑Being, providing safety resources. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program). Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross. One year of current acute care RN experience or military RN experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Physical Requirements Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical demands exceed those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $35.50 Maximum hourly: $55.60 The pay range reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skill set, and education.
