Waste Processing Supervisor

Job Description Oversee retail and consolidation operations of all wastes received, including hazardous, non‑hazardous, and universal wastes, as well as off‑spec products. Ensure that customer orders are processed safely, accurately, on time, and in compliance with internal procedures and all applicable regulations and customer requirements. Responsibilities Maintain operational documentation, including reports, licenses, procedures, and order requirements. Supervise segregation, consolidation, and packaging of hazardous, non‑hazardous, and universal wastes and off‑spec materials for storage. Communicate with shipping/receiving when waste is ready for shipment. Coordinate work with other sites and corporate teams to ensure operational goals are met. Monitor order status from receipt to settlement and resolve any issues or clarify requirements with customers. Create and maintain operational reports to track performance and compliance. Handle purchasing for the facility, generate purchase orders and work orders, and review invoicing for services provided. Support compliance with all federal, state, and local permit requirements. Communicate facility needs, difficulties, and changes in operations to management. Promote continuous improvement through process enhancements and positive change initiatives. Oversee production, manage a team of technicians, schedule and distribute work, and provide direct supervision and assistance. Train technicians and operators on equipment operation, service line processes, and required paperwork. Follow Health & Safety / Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures, including incident reporting and resolution. Supervise forklift and other heavy equipment operations for material handling. Maintain records for DOT and state officials as assigned. Perform published contingency plan emergency response procedures and act as Alternate Emergency Coordinator if appointed. Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (minimum). At least 2 years of experience with packaging, transporting, and/or storing hazardous waste. Knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations. Willingness and ability to wear company‑provided PPE (eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls, respirator). Bachelor’s degree in science or an environmental field (preferred). 40‑hour HAZWOPER course completion (preferred). Supervisory or team leadership experience. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint). Highly developed verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to operate a powered industrial truck (forklift). Training Clean Earth training program for emergency response and operational equipment. DOT packaging and UN rating training. Clean Earth Waste Diversion, JSA, and PPE training. DOT CSA and spill response training. Formaldehyde, emergency action plan, and bloodborne pathogens training. Hazard communication, PIT and yard awareness, acid and cyanide training. PCB ballast identification and prohibited materials training. Respiratory protection and respirator fit testing. Incident management investigation and record‑keeping. PIT – operator evaluation, pallet mover, stacker, and forklift practical training. RCRA training and waste analysis plan. 40‑hour initial HAZWOPER, 8‑hour HAZWOPER refresher, and consolidating flammable liquids training.
