Location: Westport, CT Potential Compensation: $150,000 to $200,000About the RoleThis role goes far beyond traditional accounting management. You’ll be the financial architect behind high-end residential development projects, working closely with executive leadership to manage cashflow, oversee financial reporting, and guide investment decisions. You’ll also play a key role in shaping internal systems and mentoring junior staff.Key Responsibilities

• Leading forecasting and budgeting on projects and the financial health of the business.
• Oversee all general accounting functions: AP, AR, invoice coding, reconciliations, and reporting, leading a staff of 2.
• Lead the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and software.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and business processes.
• Collaborate with leadership on cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Coordinate client billing, change orders, and ensure alignment with project budgets.
• Produce and maintain BOEs, Proformas, and other financial projection documents.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Support payroll and tax reporting functions.
• Manage audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.Ideal Candidate
• 8-10 years of experience. Background in real estate development or similar
• Strong understanding of construction project accounting and financial modeling.
• Experience with accounting software and systems implementation.
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
