We are seeking a mission‑aligned, passionate, and dedicated High School Math 2 Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and challenging learning environment, implement rigorous and differentiated instruction, and support the academic and social‑emotional growth of all students. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Classroom Management Develop and implement standards‑aligned lesson plans that foster deep conceptual understanding of advanced mathematical concepts, including functions, modeling, and statistical reasoning. Use data‑driven instruction to assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Create a structured and positive classroom culture that encourages critical thinking, problem‑solving, and student engagement. Utilize differentiation strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those needing enrichment or additional support. Incorporate technology and real‑world applications to enhance student learning. Student Support & Engagement Build strong relationships with students and set high academic and behavioral expectations . Implement social‑emotional learning (SEL) strategies to support student well‑being. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Ensure the safety of students at all times through consistent supervision and by following and implementing the school‑wide behavior plan . Collaboration & Professional Growth Embrace a growth mindset by actively seeking and applying feedback to enhance instructional practices and student learning outcomes. Participate in planning and coaching sessions with curriculum leaders. Work closely with grade‑level teams, instructional coaches, and support staff to enhance student learning. Actively engage in professional development and seek opportunities for continuous growth. Contribute to the school community through team meetings, committees, and events . Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (required). Valid teaching license or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina (preferred). Experience teaching high school mathematics , preferably at least Math 2 or other advanced math courses (preferred but not required). Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to high expectations for all students. Passion for urban education and a commitment to closing the achievement gap.
