Please visit for more information. We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our high-growth and fast-paced veterinary company. This position's core responsibilities will be responsible for assisting in the payroll process, time-keeping, benefits management and other support services. Job Responsibilities Payroll Processing: Administer bi-weekly payroll cycles in Paylocity, for both hourly, salary and 1099 employees Time & Attendance: Audit electronic timecards, PTO balances, and schedules, resolving discrepancies directly with managers and supervisors System Management: Serve as an internal subject-matter expert for Paylocity Modules and other related systems (e.g., Payroll, Benefits, Time & Labor, Expense, Onboarding) Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and assist with tax filings and year-end W-2 processing Reporting: Generate labor distribution reports, compliance documentation, and customized payroll reports for management review Training: Provide training and support to new managers using self service tools Benefits: Administer benefits enrollment, eligibility tracking, and carrier connections; Collaborate with the reconciliation of monthly activity for payroll and benefits Audits: Provide support for benefit, government and financial audits Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy Perform miscellaneous duties and special projects, as needed Requirements 1-5+ years Payroll, Benefits HRIS experience in a multi-location environment Demonstrate sense of urgency and work well under pressure Experience in problem solving. Ability to become a subject matter expert on various payroll and benefit processes A solid understanding of multi-state tax regulations, FLSA requirements, ACA reporting, and benefits administration Sharp attention to detail and high degree of accuracy Ability to prioritize, multi-task, adapt to and operate in a fast-paced, changing environment with proficiency Prompt and professional verbal and written communication skills with a customer service attitude and being able to communicate effectively with vendors and employees at all levels of the organization Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Accounting Systems (Sage Intacct or comparable), and experience with AP systems (Bill/Divvy or similar) Local to Chicago and ability to work in office 5 days a week Highly competitive compensation consisting of base salary and performance bonus #J-18808-Ljbffr Tyree & D'Angelo Partners
